Thursday update: At least 2,961 coronavirus cases in Wisconsin, 1,560 in Milwaukee County

Milwaukee leaders continue preparations for possible coronavirus cases.

Update: Thursday, 2:21 p.m.

The number of coronavirus cases in Wisconsin is inching toward 3,000 after the latest numbers from Milwaukee County came out moments ago.

The county says there are 1,560 positive tests since the pandemic began, a climb of 99 cases in the past 24 hours.

That is a 6.8 percent rise in the county compared to Wednesday.

692 cases involve African-Americans, 44.2 percent of all case in the county which has a 27.2 percent population of African-Americans.

Update: Thursday, 1:37 p.m.

Wisconsin has put out new coronavirus numbers for the state. Combining that with the latest Milwaukee County data:
– 2,901 positive tests/cases, a 5.3 percent rise in cases compared to 24 hours ago
– 113 deaths in the state
– 843 hospitalizations
– 31,424 negative tests

County-by-county updates for Southeastern Wisconsin:

  • Dodge County: 16 (16 on Wednesday)
  • Fond du Lac County: 49 (48 on Wednesday)
  • Jefferson County: 19 (16 on Wednesday)
  • Kenosha County: 135 (129 on Wednesday)
  • Milwaukee County: 1,500 (1,417 on Wednesday, a 5.9 percent rise)
  • Ozaukee County: 71 (70 on Wednesday)
  • Racine County: 84 (77 on Wednesday)
  • Sheboygan County: 31 (31 on Wednesday)
  • Walworth County: 28 (23 on Wednesday)
  • Washington County: 63 (62 on Wednesday)
  • Waukesha County: 184 (174 on Wednesday)

Update: Thursday, 9:26 a.m.

Exactly 1,500 coronavirus cases have happened in Milwaukee County since the current pandemic began. This rises the statewide total to 2,839.

Milwaukee has a 5.9 percent rise in cases compared to 24 hours ago – continuing a multi-day trend of four to six percent rises in cases in the county.

Update: Wednesday, 2:52 p.m.

There are now 1,461 positive coronavirus tests in Milwaukee County since the COVID-19 pandemic began, according to the latest Milwaukee County figures. That is a 5.3 percent rise in cases.

That means exactly 2,800 people now have the virus, combining the latest Milwaukee County and State of Wisconsin updates. About 800 new cases have come since Saturday.

Some of the specific demographic data:
– 1,100 of cases come from the City of Milwaukee
– 45 percent of all cases involve African-Americans. Milwaukee County’s African-American population is 27.2 percent of the city’s overall population.
– 55.2 percent of all cases involve people between 40 and 70 years old.
– 53.2 percent of all cases involve men

Wisconsin has put out new coronavirus numbers for the state. Combining that with the latest Milwaukee County data:
– 2,756 positive tests/cases, a 6.9 rise in cases
– 101 deaths in the state
– 790 hospitalizations
– 30,115 negative tests

County-by-county updates for Southeastern Wisconsin:

  • Dodge County: 165 (15 on Tuesday)
  • Fond du Lac County: 48 (44 on Tuesday)
  • Jefferson County: 16 (15 on Tuesday)
  • Kenosha County: 129 (112 on Tuesday)
  • Milwaukee County: 1,417 (1,324 on Tuesday, a 7 percent rise)
  • Ozaukee County: 70 (66 on Tuesday)
  • Racine County: 77 (66 on Tuesday)
  • Sheboygan County: 31 (30 on Tuesday)
  • Walworth County: 23 (21 on Tuesday)
  • Washington County: 62 (59 on Tuesday)
  • Waukesha County: 174 (166 on Tuesday)

Update: Wednesday, 8:56 a.m.

The coronavirus case total has again risen in Milwaukee County, to 1,416 – continuing to be where more than half the cases are in the state of Wisconsin.

That is a 6.9 percent rise from Tuesday at this time, where there were 1,324 cases.

It also means at least 2,671 cases in Wisconsin.

Update: Tuesday, 2:25 p.m.

Milwaukee County has increased its case totals to 1,387 in the county after its afternoon update.

The county says that at least 1,100 cases come from the City of Milwaukee, followed by West Allis with 60 cases and Oak Creek with 32.

626 cases in Milwaukee County come from the African-American community.

778 cases (56.1 percent) of all cases come from people who are 40-70 years old.

735 cases (53.0 percent) involve men, while the remaining 652 are women.

With that 63-case increase from the morning, the state’s total has risen to 2,642.

Update: Tuesday, 1:39 p.m.

The state of Wisconsin has released new statistics on the coronavirus pandemic in Wisconsin. Combining that with the latest Milwaukee County data:
– 2,579 positive tests/cases, a 5.6% rise in cases
– 92 deaths in the state
– 745 hospitalizations
– 28,512 negative tests

County-by-county updates for Southeastern Wisconsin:

  • Dodge County: 15 (15 on Monday)
  • Fond du Lac County: 44 (43 on Monday)
  • Jefferson County: 15 (14 on Monday)
  • Kenosha County: 112 (104 on Monday)
  • Milwaukee County: 1,324 per the county (1,323 per the state, 1,256 on Monday, a 5.4 percent rise)
  • Ozaukee County: 66 (62 on Monday)
  • Racine County: 66 (57 on Monday)
  • Sheboygan County: 30 (21 on Monday)
  • Walworth County: 21 (20 on Monday)
  • Washington County: 59 (57 on Monday)
  • Waukesha County: 166 (160 on Monday)

Update: Tuesday, 9:11 a.m.

20 more cases of coronavirus have now happened in Milwaukee County, as of Tuesday morning, meaning there are 1,324 cases in Milwaukee County in total.

Compared to Monday’s totals, that means there are 2,508 total cases in Wisconsin.

Update: Monday, 2:31 p.m.

1,304 coronavirus cases have now been found in Milwaukee County, according to the latest updates.

That is an increase of 114 cases in the past 24 hours, a 9.5 percent climb in cases.

The total number of cases now rises to at least 2,488 – the previous 2,440 cases cited an hour ago, and the increase of 48 cases compared to the state’s total one hour ago.

Update: Monday, 1:38 p.m.

There are now 2,440 coronavirus cases in Wisconsin, according to just-released state data.

77 people have died in the state from COVID-19, while 668 have been hospitalized – 27 percent of all positive tests.

46 people have now died in Milwaukee County from coronavirus.

26,574 tests were ruled negative.

County-by-county updates for Southeastern Wisconsin:

  • Dodge County: 15, 1 up from Sunday (14)

  • Kenosha County: 104, 6 up from Sunday (98)
  • Milwaukee County: 1,256, 66 up from Sunday (1190)

  • Sheboygan County: 21, 1 down from Sunday (22)
  • Walworth County: 20
  • Washington County: 57
  • Waukesha County: 160, 6 up from Sunday (154)

Update: Monday, 9 a.m.

The coronavirus case total is reaching nearly 2,400 Monday morning in Wisconsin.

Between the state of Wisconsin totals from Sunday (2,267) and the additional numbers released from Milwaukee County (now 1,270), at least 2,389 people have coronavirus in the state.

As of 9 a.m., the death toll in Milwaukee County is at least 45 people.

The number of coronavirus cases has surpassed 2,300 in Wisconsin.

Combining numbers from Sunday, April 5, 2020, from the state Department of Health Services, the Milwaukee County Health Department, and other county health departments shows at least 2,310 people have tested positive for COVID-19. There have been at least 25,169 negative tests. The total number dead is at least 74.

Of those who have tested positive, 624 people have been hospitalized for treatment. That is just under 28-percent of all cases.

In Milwaukee County, the number of confirmed cases is at 1,190 with 39 deaths. That continues to lead the state.

Cases across the rest of southeast Wisconsin include:

  • Dodge County: 14 positive with 0 deaths
  • Fond du Lac County: 43 positive with 2 deaths
  • Jefferson County: 14 positive with 0 deaths
  • Kenosha County: 98 positive with 1 death
  • Ozaukee County: 56 positive with 6 deaths
  • Racine County: 54 positive with 1 death
  • Sheboygan County: 22 positive with 2 death
  • Walworth County: 20 positive with 0 deaths
  • Washington County: 57 positive with 3 deaths
  • Waukesha County: 154 positive with 4 deaths

In Sheboygan County, a second person has passed away from a coronavirus outbreak at the Sunny Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sheboygan. The Wisconsin National Guard has sent 30 of its members to the facility to assist with a mobile testing site.
