The nationwide network of Honor Flights is postponing all flights for this and next month, in a move of safety for all the veterans and their guardians who would accompany them to their memorials in Washington, D.C.
This includes MIlwaukee’s Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
“This is a first for us. It is heartbreaking,” said Stars and Stripes Honor Flight President Paula Nelson to WTMJ’s John Mercure.
“Their health and safety is the most important thing. Many of them do need to go sooner rather than later. We’ll work very hard to get those dates locked in and published as soon as possible.”
She says more than 300 veterans and guardians will have their Honor Flight postponed.
Stars and Stripes Honor Flight shared a message below about the move.
