MILWAUKEE — Fieldhouse Flats is a 269-unit apartment complex opening on the corner of Vel R. Phillips and Juneau Avenues in the Deer District. A groundbreaking ceremony held Thursday included city and county leaders and partners involved in the project.
The building is also a new athletic facility for Milwaukee Area Technical College.
“This ​is ​an ​incredible ​project ​that ​brings ​so ​much ​in ​the ​way ​of  ​downtown ​vitality ​to ​this ​part ​of ​the ​city,” says Joshua ​Jeffers, CEO of J. Jeffers & Co.
The rent for the apartments will be around 50% of the market rent, making the flats affordable, workforce housing.
“This ​truly ​is ​a ​Class ​A ​luxury ​apartment ​building ​at ​a ​price ​point ​that, ​there’s ​nothing ​like ​it ​in ​downtown. ​No ​competition ​for ​something ​like ​this,” says Jeffers.
Construction is expected to be completed in winter of 2027.
