The trends in the state of Wisconsin and Milwaukee County are very different when it comes to coronavirus testing results.
While the state of Wisconsin’s positive test percentage dips to about six percent, Milwaukee County’s testing percentage continues to be more than five times that amount – the highest levels seen during the coronavirus pandemic.
Thursday’s testing data from the county – the last full day of testing data – shows 32 percent positive tests. That is just three percentage points below the Wednesday testing data of 35 percent.
Those two days are the highest percentages of positive tests throughout the entire pandemic in Wisconsin.

The county has seen a four-day spike of at least 25 percent positive tests.
The largest concentration of cases in the past seven days comes from Milwaukee’s south side – bordered by National Avenue on the north, Oklahoma Avenue on the south, I-94 on the east and 35th Street to the west.

But there is positive news from the county: After a three day stretch with 19 coronavirus-related deaths, there have only been four deaths connected to COVID-19 reported since Sunday.
