ASSOCIATED PRESS — President Donald Trump said Friday “with a high degree of certainty” that the suspect in the Charlie Kirk killing has been caught, announced in a live interview on Fox News Chanel on Friday morning.
Speaking on “Fox and Friends,” the U.S. president said that a minister identified the alleged killer of Charlie Kirk.
Trump said the pastor had relations with law enforcement, saying that he knew a member of the U.S. Marshals Service.
The president said this connection ultimately led to the alleged killer’s father getting involved, which resulted in the alleged killer being taken to a police station.

Federal investigators and state officials on Thursday had released photos and a video of the person they believe is responsible. Kirk was shot as he spoke to a crowd gathered in a courtyard at Utah Valley University in Orem.
More than 7,000 leads and tips had poured in, officials said. Authorities have yet to publicly name the suspect or cite a motive in the killing, the latest act of political violence to convulse the United States.
This is a developing story, and we’ll provide more details as they become available.
