OAK CREEK, Wis.— A frightening situation unfolded in Oak Creek Saturday night when suspects broke into a home while two children were inside.
According to the Oak Creek Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call around 9:44 p.m. from a resident near 27th and Rawson Avenue. The homeowner, who was not home at the time, reported seeing the break-in happen live through their surveillance cameras.
Even more alarming- the resident told dispatchers their two children were inside the house during the break-in.
Officers arrived quickly and developed a plan to secure the scene. Contact was made with the children, who were able to safely exit the home and reunite with their parents.
Officers cleared the residence and confirmed no one else was inside.
The investigation is ongoing.
