MILWAUKEE – George Webb’s will continue to uphold a longstanding tradition of giving away free hamburgers if the Brewers are able to extend their winning streak to 12 games Tuesday night in Seattle.
“It’s part of who we are. We’re proud to do it,” George Webb VP Ryan Stamm told WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News on Tuesday. “What a great time to be a Brewers fan. We’re nervous and excited.”

George Webb’s famously gave away free burgers following Brewers winning streaks in 1987 and 2018. If the Crew win Tuesday night, the company will announce a “give-away date,” according to Stamm.
“(Giving away free burgers) is definitley unique,” he said. “Our founder, George Webb, did it in the late 40’s with the Braves. We’re huge baseball fans. We love the Brewers.”
The free burgers promotion does come at a cost for the company, he admitted.
“We don’t have insurance for this,” Stamm explained. “In the long run, it pays off. Our customers take care of us. Not everyone is coming in just for a free burger. (The give-away) is strong for the brand and important to us but no insurance policy for this one.”
