Coronavirus isn’t going away anytime soon. As of early Wednesday morning, the United States now has more than 1,000 cases.
And the case numbers are climbing.
Wisconsin Republican Senator Ron Johnson tells WTMJ that President Donald Trump is considering numerous steps to counteract the indirect effect of coronavirus on the American economy. He met with Republican senators recently on that subject.
“President Trump primarily focused on the economic impact and his desire to really lead on this issue,” said Johnson to John Mercure, host of Wisconsin’s Afternoon News.
“These are extraordinary times, and it’s an extraordinary moment, and it might require extraordinary actions.”
Those steps could include “payroll tax cuts, a stimulus package…family leave in some of these situations,” according to Johnson.
