WAUKESHA- The reading of victim impact statements was paused and Judge Jennifer Dorow’s courtroom was evacuated during a sentencing hearing for Darrell Brooks on Tuesday morning.
Just before 10:00 a.m., Waukesha County District Attorney Susan Opper abruptly said that a break was needed. Shortly thereafter, Judge Jennifer Dorow was whisked away by a deputy with the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Deputy.

More than an hour later, Judge Dorow’s courtroom reopened and victims resumed reading their impact statements.

Brooks is expected to be sentenced to life in prison after he was convicted of all charges related to an attack on the Waukesha Christmas Parade last year.
