The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says that I-43 southbound has re-opened.
10:44 a.m.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office says they are investigating reports of gunfire, leading to the closure of I-43 southbound near Walnut Street.
All southbound lanes on I-43 at Walnut are shutdown while Deputies investigate a report of shots fired. No injuries have been reported. Please use alternate routes.

A law enforcement investigation has led to the closure of all lanes of I-43 southbound just north of downtown Milwaukee.
The closure happened at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
There was no initial word on what Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating, or how long the freeway will stay closed.
