MILWAUKEE— A Milwaukee police officer is facing fourth-degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct after an incident involving a woman at a South Milwaukee bar.
The criminal complaint states the incident happened September 21 at the Taproom in South Milwaukee. Police were called to the bar around 2 a.m. for a report involving an intoxicated person. A witness explained to officers that Nathan Enk was being escorted out of the bar before he approached a woman, and grabbed her breasts.
Enk has been on full suspension from the Milwaukee Police Department since the alleged incident.
According to the complaint, a woman told police Enk repeatedly tried to kiss her and touch her without her consent. Enk allegedly told the woman, “Just kiss me and then I’ll leave you alone, ” and asked to touch her inappropriately.
Enk later denied groping the woman during a police interview.
He is charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, a Class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.
If convicted, he may face up to 11 months in prison and around $11,000 in fines.
Enk is out of custody and is scheduled for an initial court appearance Wednesday, October 7, at 1:30 p.m.
