A 22-year-old man is dead and five others are injured, one critically, after six different shootings within a 12-hour period in Milwaukee.
It started around 5:50 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2020 when a 19-year-old man was shot near Wells and 28th. He walked to a hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Just before 7:00 p.m., officers were called to Mitchell and 25th for a report of a 22-year-old man who had been shot. He was later pronounced dead.
Around the same time as the fatal shooting, police also received word of a shooting near 1st and Locust. The victim, a 38-year-old man, was able to walk to a nearby hospital.
A 48-year-old woman was shot around 10:30 p.m. near 14th and Burleigh. The circumstances surrounding that incident remain under investigation.
The fifth incident happened just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday near 32nd and Hampton. A 19-year-old man was shot and taken to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Officers were later called to 23rd and Highland after a 34-year-old man was shot around 5:20 a.m. That victim was taken to a hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
In total, one person was killed, one person remains in critical condition and four others were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
