COVID-19 hasn’t stopped making it’s way through our communities.
That’s important to remember as you head out this weekend to celebrate the 4th of July.
Dr. Joyce Sanchez, infectious disease specialist at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin, offered the following tips to ensure a safe holiday weekend:
– Outdoor settings are lower risks than indoor settings
“It’s those indoors settings that people are within the six feet of distance, settings where it’s hard to keep a mask on, and the number of people you’re coming in contact with.”
– Don’t let your guard down
“Try to go with someone who can help keep you accountable.”
– If going to the beach, recommendations on social distancing and face coverings should still be followed
“Proudly display your face mask tan after you come home. I think that’s okay, that’s a badge of honor.”
– Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you have to
“Just because we can doesn’t necessarily mean we should.”
