Opening day for Wisconsin fishing is traditionally the first Saturday in May.
That will not change this year.
However, due to COVID-19, the DNR is asking fishers to maintain social distancing guidelines.
“If you’re going with a non-family member, front of the boat/ back of the boat,” Recreation Warden Mitch Groenier tells WTMJ. “But we’re really into going fishing with the family this year.”
Groenier says they are also asking fishers to stay close to home.
