“An incredibly sad day for that Miller Brewing plant, an incredibly sad day for our city.”
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is reacting to the shooting at Molson Coors in Milwaukee that left a total of six people dead, including the gunman.
“You had five people who went to work thinking they would do would what they have done probably for years, maybe even decades, and their life ended because there was a deranged gunman who decided that whatever issues he had, those people were going to die.”
Barrett tells WTMJ’s Wisconsin’s Morning News that an event like this affects the entire community.
“Its’s hard for everyone. There are very few words you can use to describe a situation like this because of its horrific nature.”
The Mayor says he is thinking of the families of those who lost loved ones.
“A loss like this is such an unfathomable loss,” adds Barrett. “All of us go through our lives on a daily basis and say ‘I’ll see you for dinner’ and that didn’t happen here.”
