The Packers take on the Chiefs this Sunday in Kansas City.
When Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes dislocated a kneecap last Thursday, it was the belief that he would not play in this upcoming game with the Green and Gold.
That belief is now in question however, after Mahomes practiced with the team on Wednesday.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur says the team is prepping the same way whether they face Mahomes or not.
“When you look across the field, the number of weapons they have on that offense is staggering,” said LaFleur. “Granted, Patrick’s one of the best in the game, the reigning MV. But you have so many great players from Travis Kelce to Sammy Watkins to Tyreek Hill to LaSean McCoy, Damien Williams, Anthony Sherman, the list goes on and on and on. So, we’ve got a lot to prepare for in regards to the Chiefs offense.”
And the defense can’t be taken for granted either.
“I see an extremely aggressive defense,” adds LaFleur. “They play extremely hard. They do a lot of blitzing. You gotta kinda prepare for the unknown.”
The Packers/ Chiefs match-up will be held in Arrowhead Stadium, known as one of the loudest stadiums in the world.
“There’s certainly things that we’re going to implement in practice,” said LaFleur. “We’ll crank up the music pretty loud and get the crowd noise going. We got to make sure our communication is on point during that game.”
