Time is running out for the homeless living in Milwaukee’s tent city, before the city kicks them out of the space they call home.
The deadline is October 31.
The residents were given the eviction with less than a month’s notice to vacate the area under the 794 overpass.
The city has plans to create a green infrastructure project in the exact location of the homeless encampment.
With a little over a week until the deadline, WTMJ’s Melissa Barclay spoke with lead case manager at the Salvation Army Emergency Lodge, Tate Walters, about what they are doing to make room at their shelter on such short notice.
