From classic to quirky, here are a few of Wisconsin’s unique food festivals this spring.
Wisconsin Grilled Cheese Championships – Dodgeville
Watch some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches go head to head at the Wisconsin Grilled Cheese Championship at Harris Park in Dodgeville on April 27.
- More than 150 competitors will create unique, mouthwatering sandwiches featuring our very own Wisconsin cheese in categories ranging from classic to dessert-style.
- Kids and chefs alike compete to create Wisconsin’s best grilled cheese sandwich. The contest offers nine categories – including Best Dessert sandwich – and a wide range of age and experience groups, starting at 12 for young adults.Â

Maple Fest– Phelps
Head to Phelps Maple Syrup Fest the first weekend in April for a sweet day learning all about Wisconsin’s maple syrup.
- Did you know that maple syrup was one of Wisconsin’s first agricultural products? Wisconsin produces an average of 74,000 gallons of maple syrup a year!
- Tour local sugar bushes to see how sap becomes maple syrup, browse crafts from more than 70 vendors and see who wins the Maple Syrup Contest. The contest is judged on density, clarity, flavor, color and label.
- Make sure to sample your favorite maple treats at the Maple Café. Treats include maple caramel corn, maple pecan pie and maple syrup cheesecake.

Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival – La Crosse
Head to La Crosse April 26-28 for the Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival.
- Kick things off on Friday with Tasters Eve, an evening of tap takeovers and specials all around town!Â
- On Saturday, sample from more than 200 quality beers, 60 wines, countless gourmet cheeses and meats and enjoy a variety of live music.
- Round out the weekend with Sunday’s Bacon Bloody Brunch.
