Less than 24 hours after publicly disrespecting his teammates and the Houston Rockets organization, all-star guard James Harden will finally get his way. Harden will never play another game for the Rockets.
Unlike the NFL, stars get their way in the NBA. It is a product of the AAU culture in which players are coddled and babied into believing petulance is a way to the top.
In eight full seasons in Houston, the Rockets provided Harden with more than enough help to be considered NBA title contenders. But as soon as Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook entered, they wanted out…because of Harden.
James Harden is a gifted scorer. Over the past three seasons, Harden leads the league in scoring at over 33 points per game.
James Harden is also a bad teammate. In five games in 2021, Harden has eclipsed 20 points just once.
Overweight and out of shape, Harden is now the Brooklyn Nets headache. If you’re a fan of the Bucks, you should be elated.
Wherever Harden lands, drama and an early playoff exit follows.
