Giannis Antetokounmpo is one step closer to being named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in back to back seasons.
Giannis, along with James Harden and LeBron James, was announced as a finalist for the award on Saturday.
The Greek Freak also has a chance to become just the third player in NBA history to win be named MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season.
The other two players to accomplish that feat are Hakeem Olajuwon and Michael Jordan.
Rudy Gobert and Anthony Davis were also named as finalists for the Defensive Player of the Year award.
Giannis isn’t the only Buck named as a finalist for a league-wide award.
Coach Mike Budenholzer, the reigning NBA Coach of the Year, has been named as a finalist for the award again this season.
Nick Nurse of the Toronto Raptors and Billy Donovan of the Oklahoma City Thunder are the other two finalists for that award.
There’s no set date for when the winners will be announced.
