Two days ago, Jared Veldheer was on the verge of making NFL history.
Now, he could be the thing that derails the Packers’ playoff run.
The newly acquired offensive tackle is being placed on the COVID-19 reserve list after a positive test.
Here’s the hard part…Veldheer did practice on Tuesday with his new Packers teammates.
That being said, none of those teammates were deemed to be close contacts.
That’s a sigh of relief…for now.
We have no choice but to hold our breath between now and Saturday that nobody else in that Packers locker room tests positive.
Especially along the offensive line.
If there’s one area that you don’t want to be short-handed heading into a game against Aaron Donald, it’s the O-line.
Look, this isn’t Jared Veldheer’s fault. Or Brian Gutekunst’s fault. Or anyone’s fault.
These guys should be commended for trying to play through a deadly pandemic.
But this serves as a reminder that one false move could be the end of the Packers’ season.
