It’s a two-horse race for the NFL’s MVP Award.
Elder statesman Aaron Rodgers and young superstar Patrick Mahomes are jockeying back and forth down the stretch.
Mahomes took the lead on Sunday.
The Chiefs quarterback actually did the Packers a favor, throwing for three touchdowns in a road victory over the New Orleans Saints.
Meanwhile, Rodgers tallied a season-low 143 yards passing, albeit, in a win over the last-place Carolina Panthers.
He did throw a touchdown and run for another, but the MVP award is about being spectacular.
Number 12 and the Packers’ offense were far from it on Saturday Night.
The good news for Rodgers is that the race is not over.
The Packers have a chance to make a huge statement next Sunday night, when the Tennessee Titans come to town.
Primetime. Week 16. Playoff Caliber Opponent. Homefield Advantage.
The entire nation will be watching.
It’s time for the thoroughbred’s final kick.
