Watch a story about him and his father below.
Like father, like son – a University of Michigan offensive lineman find himself in the NFL – the same league his father starred in.
And this time, the son is a Green Bay Packer.
Jon Runyan, a 6’4″. 306 lb. guard and tackle with the Michigan Wolverines, was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round Saturday afternoon.
The pick came in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Jon’s dad Jon Runyan, Sr., played with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Runyan had mixed reviews from NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein:
“Determined and smart, Runyan held his own as a Big Ten tackle despite a lack of desired physical and athletic traits. He’s inconsistent taking control into initial engagements, but stays after it and recovers back into the second phase of the block…he has adequate athleticism and body control to fit into a variety of run schemes but may not excel in any,” said Zuerlein.
