A kid who grew up watching Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers tear up defenses in his own home city of Green Bay gets to wear green as a quarterback in the NFL.
The green of the New York Jets, that is.
James Morgan will go to the Jets after they drafted him in the fourth round
“He showed up at the East-West Shrine Game and clearly was the best quarterback in attendance,” draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah said on ESPN after the pick.
The Morgan family, quarantined in their home in Green Bay, Wisconsin, exploded in joy in the family living room.
However, as NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein states, he has growth to make.
“Morgan is very capable of making impressive throws to all areas of the field, but his violent release and inconsistent footwork hinder functional ball placement and accuracy. His lack of pocket mobility and instincts make him too easy for defensive coordinators to assault with a variety of blitz packages,” said Zierlein.
