Emmy Myers was the girl in high school who knew everyone, got good grades, and participated in countless extra-curricular activities.
That was until she met someone who changed her life forever. Myers became a living commodity against her will.
“With a touch of a button, he sold me to the highest bidder,” said Myers of her trafficker in a documentary.
Miraculously, Myers was able to escape from her trafficker, and is alive today to tell the story. She started a non-profit, Lacey's Hope Project, to raise awareness about this growing epidemic.
Myers sat down with WTMJ's John Mercure to share her story. Listen to their conversation above.
