WaterStone Bank Salute to Service – sponsored by General Communications and The Packing House
The first COVID-19 death in the United States was in early February. Since that time, more than 80,000 Americans have died from this virus.
As states shut down schools, businesses and sporting events, health care workers across the country have met the rising challenge of a global pandemic.
One of those people is Nicholas Alessi.
Alessi is a working nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee. He’s also set to graduate from Marquette University with a Master’s Degree in nursing.
With all that on his plate, Nicholas, like a lot of other healthcare providersfinds himself on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nicholas has repeatedly volunteered to work with COVID-19 patients, instead of the typical patients he works with every day.
Understanding that he could be putting himself and his family at risk, he takes extra precautions to make sure that doesn’t happen.
“I think just doing our due diligence to be a little bit more mindful will get us through this,” Nicholas said.
For his service to the greater Milwaukee community in the battle to fight COVID-19, Nicholas Alessi is one of our Salute to Service honorees for 2020.
