Hundreds of Vietnam Veterans, along with vets of other wars, took the Flight of Champions from Milwaukee and Green Bay to Washington, D.C. with guest guardians from the Packers, Brewers and Bucks.
But the day was about these men & women, so many of whom say they never received a true welcome home from the conflict in Vietnam – a war so many didn’t believe in. But on this day, decades overdue, they received that thanks.
From Nov. 1-11, WTMJ Cares will present Operation Glory, an effort to fund an entire flight for veterans to be able to experience this through Stars & Stripes Honor Flight.
