In about three weeks, delegates at the almost-completely-virtual Democratic National Convention will decide whether to officially nominate Joe Biden as their party’s candidate for President. As of now, the identity of his potential running mate remains unknown.
Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin, a possible Vice Presidential pick, believes an announcement will be made soon enough.
“Joe Biden deserves to have his own process. We’re going to find out very soon,” she told WTMJ’s Steve Scaffidi Show Monday.
“If he asked me to serve in that capacity, I would say yes.”
She said she would do “anything I can” to help elect Biden, stating that Wisconsin is critical to winning the White House.
Despite most of the DNC being a virtual event, Baldwin believes the VP selection will speak at the event.
The senator credited Biden for having virtual events centered around Wisconsin’s issues.
“Posing a contrast between the current Vice President and President who have been doing in-person events and risking people’s lives and safety by not wearing masks, and not modeling behaviors that we would hope Americans are adopting in order to keep themselves and their families safe,” she said.
