There were 12 new deaths and 728 new positive COVID-19 cases reported Tuesday, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
In terms of raw numbers, 728 of the 17,410 tests analyzed came back positive, down from Monday’s 922. That makes the day’s positive case rate four percent, a large two-day drop from 9.6 percent on Sunday.
As for the seven-day average for new daily cases, Wisconsin is at 840 for Tuesday. That continues a downward trend from the record high of 930 set more than a week ago.
Throughout the pandemic, Wisconsin has recorded 56,056 cases of COVID-19. Of those, 9,709 cases are considered active. State health officials report 12 new deaths due to the virus, rising the pandemic total to 961.
Since the pandemic began, 4,783 people who tested positive for COVID-19 have been hospitalized, including 51 more over the last 24 hours.
