Two Democrats are on the ballot for Milwaukee County Executive during Tuesday’s local general election in Wisconsin, an election that neither believe should be happening Tuesday.
“This is not ideal…proper precautions haven’t been taken. People don’t want to work on the polls,” said State Senator Chris Larson on WTMJ’s Steve Scaffidi Show.
“You’re asking people to put their lives on the line to vote.”
“If I had my crystal ball, I would have postponed this,” added State Representative David Crowley, Larson’s opponent, on the Steve Scaffidi Show.
“When I think of the CDC guidelines…I don’t see this as a way of being a safe way of practicing our democracy. Nobody should have to choose between being healthy and casting their ballot.”
But unless a unexpected turn of events happens in the next 20 hours, a significantly smaller number of polls will open statewide, including just five of 180 polls in the city of Milwaukee.
For those who choose to go to the ballot box, Crowley and Larson gave a view of their positions on particular issues they will face, listen to full interviews below:
