The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner shared how three people died of COVID-19 in Milwaukee on Thursday.
Tommie Lee Loving passed away at 5:45 p.m. Thursday evening at the Milwaukee Veterans Administration Hospital.
The Medical Examiner says he was admitted to the hospital Wednesday with cough, fever and weakness, then received a positive COVID-19 test.
Within one day, his health declined despite the hospital’s efforts, and he died.
Loving, who lived on Milwaukee’s northwest side, was 69.
Carolyn Johnson died at about 2:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Froedtert Hospital.
According to the Medical Examiner, she went to the hospital on Saturday with a fever and progressive cough.
She took a COVID-19 test and was told one day later, on Sunday, her test was positive.
Within two days, she moved to the ICU with increased oxygen, but on Thursday, she started receiving comfort care.
Johnson, who lived on the northwest side, was 65.
Callie Roundtree died Thursday at 12:10 p.m. at Froedtert Hospital.
The Medical Examiner says someone found her on March 16 “with an altered mental state.”
After a 911 call, rescue crews took her to Froedtert Hospital, where she was treated for a stroke. She also tested positive for coronavirus.
Roundtree lived on the north side. She was 79.
