The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner has released information on the fifth coronavirus death in Milwaukee County and the eighth in Wisconsin.
Shelia Staten, 57, passed away lat Wednesday night. She lived on Milwaukee’s southwest side.
Her daughter said she had traveled to Arkansas and Texas three weeks ago.
The Medical Examiner’s office said that she entered Froedtert Hospital last Thursday with “dyspnea, fever and cough.”
She received a COVID-19 diagnosis and a ventilator, but endured kidney and other organ failure before passing away.
Update: 9:17 a.m.
The Milwaukee County coronavirus case count has risen to 343, from 325 – the latest update on Tuesday afternoon.
That number is also 53 higher than what the state had listed for Milwaukee County in its daily update Tuesday, when the state had a total of 585 cases.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Officer is reporting that a 57-year-old woman from West Allis has died at a local hospital from complications of coronavirus.
She had been hospitalized since 3/19.
This is the eighth coronavirus-related death in Wisconsin, the fifth in Milwaukee County.
