The Milwaukee Business Journal is unveiling its 2023 “40 Under 40” Honorees this week.
One of the honorees this year is Micah Crawford, Director of Latin America Marketing at Milwaukee Tool.
While he’s worked for the company for over 13 years, Crawford has only recently moved to Milwaukee. Before that, he held positions in Colorado, Texas, and Panama – eventually taking over as marketing director for all of the Caribbean. Crawford said he has kept the same mentality throughout his career.
“I continuously focus on how I can learn and improve,” he said.
Crawford credits an experience much earlier in his life for setting the tone for his career, though – his time in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program receiving mentorship as a youth growing up in Colorado.
“It was a profound experience on my life,” Crawford said “It changed the trajectory of where I was going, and it was really great to be able to connect with somebody who wanted to see me succeed and I could ask questions and get feedback and get some guidance from.”
It’s a role Crawford now finds himself in – as mentor – for Milwaukee’s branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“I was so excited to just have the opportunity to give back a little bit and hopefully do the same for somebody else in terms of the value that was provided to me as a kid,” he said.
