MILWAUKEE- Harley Davidson isn’t going anywhere.
Company CEO Jochen Zeitz putting to bed rumors that the company was exploring ways to minimize its Milwaukee footprint after he told Bloomberg News last week they planned to repurpose the historic building on the west side.
“We know the faster we move forward, transform and innovate the more important it is to remember where we came from,” Zeitz said during Wednesday’s 3rd quarter earnings call. “We want Milwaukee and our roots in Wisconsin to be as relevant to us today and tomorrow as it’s been in our past and for our presence here not only benefit our employees but our community and customers alike.”
Zeitz didn’t get into specifics of what the ‘further investment’ would look like but said they plan to unveil detailed plans in 2023. That’s the same year the company will celebrate it’s 120th anniversary.
On the topic of that 120th, Zeitz said the company was planning a 3-day rally, “with the intention to develop it over the coming years into one of the largest Harley Davidson events in North America and globally.”
As for the company’s third quarter earnings themselves, Harley reported an overall increase and bike sales and operating profits. For more on the earnings call, click here.
