MILWAUKEE – Two people were killed in a head-on crash along I-43/94 South in Milwaukee early Wednesday morning, resulting in a full freeway shutdown.
INCIDENT ALERT: A full freeway closure is underway at or near I-43 South and S. Chase Avenue, after a wrong way driver led to a collision with serious injuries to two people, who have been taken to an area hospital. Traffic is being diverted off the freeway at Becher Street.

The southbound lanes of the interstate were shut-down for more than six hours during the morning commute while crews worked to clear the scene.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office says there were four traffic fatalities in 24 hours from Tuesday into Wednesday. Autopsies on all four victims are being performed on Wednesday.
