Sen. Tammy Baldwin said she will vote for the impeachment of President Trump if/when the article of impeachment is sent to the U.S. Senate.
“There has to be accountability,” Baldwin told WTMJ’s Steve Scaffidi. “This was a major threat to the functioning of our democracy. Too many leaders are putting fuel on conspiracy theories that are clearly baseless.”
The transition of power needs to move quickly, according to Baldwin.
“Right now, with the departures of multiple of cabinet members, we don’t have a functioning federal government,” she said. “We need to make sure we put one together with great efficiency and promptness. We are facing multiple crisis, with the pandemic, a new variance of coronavirus, and the huge economic fallout from the pandemic.”
A request to chat with Sen. Ron Johnson was not returned.
