A new strain of the coronavirus, first reported in the UK, is inching closer to Wisconsin.
There are now confirmed cases in Minnesota.
Bellin Health’s COVID Incident Command Branch Lead Physician Dr. Robert Mead says it’s just a question of when, not if it will arrive here.
“It should be just a matter of time before it gets here,” Mead tell WTMJ. “There’s really no way of preventing it from coming.”
Mead adds that testing shows that the vaccine should prevent you from getting this strain out of the UK, but may not be effective against other strains that may mutate.
