Since 2011 the U.S. Dept. of Labor Statistics found a nearly 60% increase in the number of reported attacks against health care workers. They range from attempted sexual assaults to physical attacks including biting.
JS Reporter Raquel Rutledge says there are safety protocols that could be put into place but many hospitals are reluctant to spend the necessary money as well as admit that security issues exist.
