MILWAUKEE — Prosecutors have filed charges against two people regarding a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed 7-year-old Londyn Quesada on Oct. 28.
Iman Ghalee Washington Jr. is facing six felonies, including second degree reckless homicide, hit-and-run resulting in death and knowingly operating a vehicle while suspended resulting in death.
Kevin Hightire is charged with aiding a felon.
Investigators say Quesada was a passenger in her mother’s vehicle when they were struck near 76th St. and Calumet Ave.
The child was ejected from the vehicle and died from her injuries.
A criminal complaint indicates the striking vehicle was being driven by Washington at speeds over 100 mph when the crash occurred.
Witnesses reported there were two vehicles racing before the crash.
Washington then got into the other vehicle–which was being driven by Kevin Hightire–to flee the scene.
Hightire told investigators he and Washington were heading to an ATM while ‘weaving in and out of traffic’ at high speeds.
Hightire said he thought Washington crashed into a pole in the median until he saw the other vehicle with damage.
Hightire returned to Washington’s car where there was a passenger who appeared unconscious. Hightire and Washington put the passenger in Hightire’s car and fled the scene.
Police do not have Washington in custody. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Hightire will be back in court Nov. 13.
