Over 10 hours after polls closed in Wisconsin, Joe Biden has taken a lead over President Donald Trump in the race to win the state’s 10 electoral votes.
Wisconsin saw over 3.28 million votes casts for the 2020 presidential election, a new record for the state.
With all but two precincts in the state reporting all ballots counted. Biden has 1,630,334 votes, while Trump has 1,609,586. Their difference is 20,748.
As of 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, the Associated Press has not announced a projected winner.
The final two precincts needing to report results are the Town of Willow in Richland County and the Town of Union in Pierce County.
The ballot count has taken longer than past presidential elections due to the record number of mail-in absentee ballots.
The last cities to finalize their count of absentee ballots were Milwaukee and Green Bay. Milwaukee finished their count around 3 a.m. Wednesday, while Green Bay finished their count just before 6 a.m.
The City of Kenosha also finished reporting its ballot count just after 6 a.m.
Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chairman Ben Wikler sharing his reaction after counting in Kenosha ended, saying Biden has received the most votes for a presidential candidate in the state’s history.
Green Bay and Kenosha results are in. Biden is now up in Wisconsin by roughly 20,600 votes. That number could wobble a bit, but there’s no realistic path for Trump to pull ahead.
