More than 2,000 people have now died in Wisconsin after testing positive for COVID-19.
The Department of Health Services announced on Saturday that 59 people have died due to the virus in the past 24 hours.
The total number of people who have died as a result of the virus in the state now stands at 2,031.
261 of those people have died within the past week.
A record number of new cases were also identified in the past 24 hours. 5,278 tests came back positive out of 14,853 tests analyzed.
Wisconsin also saw 229 new hospitalizations over the past 24 hours.
On Friday, the Wisconsin Hospital Association said there were 1,546 people who were hospitalized due to the virus. Those numbers were not updated on Saturday.
