Police officers have always had a dangerous job but more than ever before, they are putting themselves at greater risk as they continue to serve and protect during the age of coronavirus.
A shocking new report says that COVID-19 has killed more officers this year- than have been killed on patrol.
Mequon Police Captain John Hoell says protocols have changed drastically due to the pandemic.
“It’s affected pretty much how we operate differently on a daily basis- from sanitation to PPE’s, every officer had to go through training on the proper ways to wear face masks, when to wear the face masks, how to disinfect their squad cars along with themselves if their in a contaminated situation,” said Hoell.
