MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Department of Health Services announced 48 new COVID-19 related deaths on Wednesday.
There have now been 1,681 people who have died in Wisconsin as a result of the virus.
The news comes on the same day that Governor Tony Evers announced that the first patient in the state is now being treated at the Alternate Care Facility located at Wisconsin State Fair Park.
DHS also announced another 4,205 positive cases on Wednesday, along with 167 new hospitalizations.
The Wisconsin Hospital Association says there are 1,190 people across the state currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
