American Red Cross volunteers in Wisconsin are gearing-up for deployment as dry conditions continue to fuel the flames of wildfires up and down the West Coast.
Communications officer with the American Red Cross of Wisconsin Justin Kern says with the size of the disaster, recovery from these fires will likely be long and they are preparing to send more people to help out with the rehabilitation process.
“We’ve got one person who made there way out there from the Eau Claire area and then we have another volunteer working remotely back here helping with some case work with clients who may be displaced from the Wausau area,” said Communications officer of the American Red Cross of Wisconsin Justin Kern.
Kern says if he gets called to serve on the West Coast, this trip will be different than any other with the coronavirus looming during all the devastation.
