The man shot by police in Kenosha in August is breaking his silence from his hospital bed.
The shooting of Jacob Blake sparked riots and protests in the city since it happened Aug. 23.
Both President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden made stops in Kenosha last week.
“Your life, and not only just your life, your legs, something you need to move around and forward in life, can be taken from you like this,” Blake said in a video posted by his attorney on Twitter.
“It’s nothing but pain,” he said of his condition. “It hurts to breathe. It hurts to sleep. It hurts to move from side to side. It hurts to eat.”
Blake pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault and domestic violence on Friday.
The investigation into the police shooting of Blake is ongoing.
