KENOSHA- A day after 29 year old Jacob Blake was shot by Kenosha Police officers and a night of unrest that followed, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has declared a state of emergency for parts of the community that includes a curfew tonight.
According to the Sheriff’s Department the 8pm curfew will go into effect tonight and remain in place until 7 o’clock tomorrow morning for all areas of the city east of I-94.
Several businesses were damaged during a night of civil unrest Sunday and into the early hours of Monday morning. The City of Kenosha reporting a number of public works department vehicles damaged as well as damage to police cruisers and the county courthouse.
A used car lot just blocks away from the courthouse was also damaged, as were several businesses.
