As the new school year approaches, 10 schools in Milwaukee will be able to have in-person classes as part of their reopening plan.
These schools are part of the 35 who have submitted a K-12 Safety Assessment Checklist to the Milwaukee Health Department for approval.
The plan must contain information that will help the department respond to confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases in the school, how they have adjusted scheduled and building space for social distancing, what steps they are taking to track the health of students and staff, as well as details for cleaning and sanitize schools.
The schools that have received approval are:
- Marquette
- Wisconsin Lutheran
- Pius XI
- Yeshiva Elementary
- St. Marcus
- Divine Savior Holy Angels
- Milwaukee Montessori
- Cross Trainers Academy
- Seton Catholic Schools
- St. Sebastian
The Milwaukee Health Department says they are reviewing all plans in the order that they have been received, but will prioritize those with opening dates earlier than others.
The list of approved schools will be updated every Friday.
