The latest COVID-19 numbers from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services show the state had slightly over 400 new cases reported Monday afternoon.
In terms of raw numbers, 402 of the 6,769 tests analyzed came back positive, down from Sunday’s 922. That makes the day’s positive case rate 5.6 percent, up from 9.6 on Sunday.
As for the seven-day average for new daily cases, Wisconsin is at 844 for Monday. That continues a downward trend from the record high of 930 set about a week ago. It has held relatively steady over the past week, ranging from 860 to 887.
Throughout the pandemic, Wisconsin has recorded 55,328 cases of COVID-19. Of those, 9,866 cases are considered active. State health officials report one new death due to the virus Monday, rising the pandemic total to 949.
Since the pandemic began, 4,732 people who tested positive for COVID-19 have been hospitalized, including 15 more on Sunday.
