The latest COVID-19 numbers from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services show the state had under 1,000 new cases reported Sunday, August 2, 2020.
922 of the 9,643 tests analyzed came back positive, down from Saturday’s 1,062. That makes the day’s positive case rate 9.6-percent, up from 7.1 on Saturday.
As for the seven-day average for new daily cases, Wisconsin is at 871 for Sunday. That continues a downward trend from the record high of 930 set one week ago. It has held relatively steady over the past six days, ranging from 860 to 887.
Throughout the pandemic, Wisconsin has recorded 54,924 cases of COVID-19. 9,994 cases are considered active.
State health officials report one new death due to the virus Sunday, rising the pandemic total to 948.
