The rate of positive COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin is on the rise as the state reported a record number of new cases on Friday.
The latest numbers from the Department of Health Services show 6.7% of all test results analyzed in the past 24 hours came back positive.
That’s up from 5.7% and 5.6% in the previous two reporting periods.
DHS is also announcing a record number of new cases were identified in the past 24 hours.
Out of 12,702 tests analyzed, 845 were positive.
That breaks the one-day record for new COVID-19 cases, which was set on Thursday when 754 tests came back positive.
Five new COVID-19 related deaths were also announced on Friday, bringing that total number to 814.
